Brighton Frocks

Last week KTW attended Brighton FashionWeek. The frocks Show held at St Martin's Church was far from unconventional but by no means disappointing. Crammed with creative talent the show and it's many performances were totally stimulating, dramatic and satisfyingly quirky for all the imaginative storys that the catwalk revealed.
We have chosen some of our favorites from the eclectic mix!

Joy Willams
Latex Design

We loved Joy's collection and her creative methods of manipulating latex. Experimenting with the latex, Joy was able to create different patterns and textures. Our personal favorite was her quilted embossed outfit featuring one very sharp black crop jacket and beautifully fitted trousers.

Charlotte Appleby
Secret Apple Yard

Sculpted wires, neon lights and innovative materials formed Charlotte's visually stimulating collection. Alien like models walked the runway adding to the Sci- fi inspired theme, helped also by use of lights, music and background movie taking us to another world .

Briar-Rose Kelleher
Marie Antoinette took DMT

Outlandish to say the least but highly creative 'Marie Antoinette Took DMT' show was one not to be forgotten! This fun, quirky and conceptual collection took a new take on the era where, showing a journey through different stages of marie's DMT fix.

Katie Newsman
Candied Taunt

Whilst watching this magical collection it reminded me of fond memories. Throughout this collection Katie explored children's reactions to the circus, some being fun but on the other hand others being quite a terrifying experience. From doing this she used different patterns from stripes to harlequin carefully working together and sculpting them into different silhouettes all inspired by the circus.

This years Frocks show was an exciting, visual series of performances and collections. The night played host to the best creative designers with fun and quirky design styles
which BFW is best known for. So we cant wait to see what BFW has instore for us in 2012.
