Arbiter Elegantiarum is the newest collection from Corrie Nielsen, mixing a touch of modern Japanese with a dark Victorian feel this designer has brought us a truly unique story. Luxury fabrics were pleated and tucked to showcase the female form. Black, white, cream, champagne, navy and pastel limes featured throughout along with muti colours shown on prints such as the short kimono wrap. Sharp tailored suits and softly tailored blouses played a big part of the collection along with, pleats and cleverly positioned darts. Big sleeves, long tails, built up layers, drape in stiff silks and stunning structures were incorporated into various garments along with other exaggerated details, which won us over again and again. Our favourite piece is the pastel lime dress, which still has us in awe. It is the perfect combination of both victorian and japanese styles with dramatic voluminous shoulders and gorgeous back button detailing.
