Designer update: Carlotta Actis Barone

Carlotta Actis Barone is making a presence this A/W !

Mixing Avant-garde fun with ethical protesting, Carlotta airs her political views on slaughter for fur through clever crafting of leathers, faux fur, knit and wool to make a striking but wearable collection.

As the daughter of Italian visual artist Manuela Corti and writer Gianni Actis Barone, Carlotta is clearly a skilled individual, using her designs at her advantage to make her message clear.

Following her spring summer 2011 debut collection 'wear my skin' which featured knots, cuts and beautiful drapery along with a colour palette inspired by skin tones, this collection based its self around racism and the deportation of Africans to America.

Carlotta's designs have a unique presence and depth, which is much needed in the industry today! So we cant wait to see what Carlotta has to show at LFW this September, as this young designer is definitely one to watch!
